Japanese live action movies released in 2025 we highly plan to make unofficial fan English subtitles

 

We highly plan to make unofficial fan English subtitles of these Japanese live action films released in 2025:

• Shounen to Inu (2025) - some of the Skeweds Translations staff members have watched this in theaters and they highly recommended (though prepare tissues as it is a tearjerker). The current status is we're waiting for Japanese captions which hopefully we'll acquire before month of November 2025 ends.

• Dollhouse (2025) - Skeweds Translations staff members had always been a fan of zero to hero themed comedy movies directed by Yaguchi Shinobu. So it is interesting that he makes a horror film. Hopeful to start working on this once we acquire the Japanese captions before the month of November 2025 ends.

• Kowloon Generic Romance (2025) Live Action Movie - This live action movie adaptation of the manga of the same name has been in the back of our heads for awhile. We also made unofficial fan English subtitles of the live action adaptations of the same mangaka's work, Koi wa Amaeagari no You ni, pre-timeskip that is the pandemic. Most of the Skeweds Translations staff is excited in this live action movie adaptation, as we are also fans of the manga and anime. Not the mention, the producer revealed that the anime and live action adaptations are designed to be watched together as linked companion pieces to each other. There is no word yet of a digital media release of this live action movie adaptation of Kowloon Generic Romance as of this announcement from us. We can only hypothesize that it would be released around first quarter of 2026. We also are not sure that there would be official English subtitles along with the release. So this title, like always from us, is only tentative until we start working on them.
